SUMMARY

  • The selected candidate is responsible for developing and supporting Web-based Java applications, Web services and Web interfaces.
  • The work environment is dynamic and challenging.
  • The right candidate must be a team player who has the ability to work on multiple projects and can organize and prioritize his work to achieve desired results in a timely manner.



RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review and understand business requirements working with cross-functional teams.
  • Develop and enhance product offerings in accordance with design and consistent with business objectives.
  • Ensure that development tasks are completed within timeline provided and that issues are fully tested with minimal defects.
  • Under guidance of technical lead, ensure that solutions being developed are effective and take into consideration performance implications for a production environment.
  • Conduct code and design reviews for development initiatives they are working on.
  • Provide detailed estimates for development efforts as needed.
  • Java software development experience using object oriented methodology.
  • Working knowledge of JavaScript, XML etc.
  • Expertise in developing Web based applications using Java and JS.
  • Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle or other relational databases experience.
  • Must be team-oriented and have excellent oral and written communication skill.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve moderate to complex application problems independently.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Bachelors/Masters degree (preferably Computer Science or Information Systems) or software development/programming certifications.


KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, PHP, AJAX, XML.
  • Previous development experience with EJB 2.0, Web Service, JSE1.5, JMS, JSP, JDBC, Apache Ant, Spring, Struts 2 and Tiles.
  • Assembly, deployment, troubleshooting, and monitoring experience of J2EE applications on one of the major J2EE application servers (JBoss, WebLogic, WebSphere).
  • Experience performance tuning a production application through code and database improvements.
  • Understanding of software development life cycle.
  • Familiarity with one of the major J2EE IDE tools.
  • Experience developing Business Objects / jasper or Crystal Reports.
  • Microsoft Development Experience (VB, ASP, .NET, C#) a plus.
