A vacancy has arisen in the Tdh Mission in Albania for Child Protection Legal Officer based in Tirana.
GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:
The Child Protection Legal Officer (part-time position), based in Tirana, will be responsible for advising and supporting Terre des hommes Mission in its work to contribute to the strengthening of laws and legal procedures to protect children from abuse, violence and exploitation in Albania
Daily responsibilities include but not limited to the following:
Providing substantive legal guidance on laws, policies and strategies related to the protection of children in Albania
Drafting policy documents and recommendations for strengthening the legal and policy context related to the development of a child protection system in Albania
Advising Terre des hommes Mission on all legal issues related to child protection
Assisting Terre des hommes Mission in various legal procedures
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
University degree in Law with a focus in human rights and/or international law highly desirable;
At least five years’ working experience in the field of children’s rights, with promotion and use of international and national instruments.
Knowledge in the field of child protection.
Fluency (written and spoken) in English.
Excellent presentation and writing skills.
Good networking and interpersonal skills.
Accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of the work.
Self-starter and independent, yet able to work as part of a small team.
