MERCATOR-A is looking for Head of Marketing Department in its Head Office, Tirana.
MERCATOR-ALBANIA is part of MERCATOR GROUP, Southeastern Europe’s leading retail chain in fast moving consumer goods opened in Albania in 2009. At the present moment the Company is operating with more than 120 employees and 5 stores in Tirana & Durres and we are planning to expand our activities even further opening new stores of different formats and in different locations.

HEAD OF MARKETING DEPARTMENT
Responsibilities:
Manages, organizes and supervises the work processes and work activities of Marketing departments’ employees;
Prepares, coordinates & updates department standards, procedures and work instructions, and ensures their consistent application;
Coordinates, confines and resolves department functions and coordinates work activities with other organizational units in the company;
Directs, controls, motivates and evaluates the work of subordinates and conducts their annual interviews;
Develops and implements the annual Marketing and Communications Strategy in line with the Group Strategy and further adopts it to the Albanian market;
Improves Mercator Brand awareness through the intensification of marketing activities and customization with the local market;
Creates and adapts sales and marketing promotions activities for each of the stores in accordance with the group’s standards and measures the effectiveness prior to the execution of these promotions;
Manages, coordinates and controls the relations between Mercator and the outsourced Marketing agency and other suppliers of marketing services;
Manages the sales of secondary positioning and other marketing activities sales in stores and cooperates closely with the suppliers;
Creates, adopts and manages the Public Relations strategy and communication in accordance with Mercator’s standards;
Monitors branding and visibility of the stores & in new openings;
Contributes to the development of new products, sourcing activities, product launches;
Leads the marketing department with a cost saving and optimizing spirit in line with the company plans and results;
Prepares various reports,analysisandproposalsfor themanagementand makes decisionsat variouslevels;
Proposes appropriatemeasuresandimprovements of the current activities;
Monitorsdevelopmentsandtrendsinthe market, informs his immediate superior, and makes sure thattheyintroduceintobusiness in a proactive manner to achieve a competitive advantage in terms of competition;
Implements andorganizes thetraining intheirfield of workforneeds ofemployersandgroups ofMercator;
Consistentlycarries out the instructions, decisionsand orders ofsuperior’sworkers;
Represents MercatorGroupwith a high level of diligence, honesty and professionalism towards the business partners.
Personal Requirements:
Ø Education: bachelor degree in Business Administration, Economics or other related field;
Ø Previous experience:
- over 3 years of previous relevant experience as a head of department;
- Very good knowledge and understanding of the marketing and public relations functions as well as the Albanian market, local suppliers marketing actions, price level of marketing services and trends;
- previous experience of managing a reasonable number of employees in the department;
- previous experience in preparing reports and analysis related to the commercial area;
Ø Languages: fluent written and spoken English & Albanian language, other languages are an advantage;
Ø Computer skills: very good knowledge of Microsoft Office package, ability in preparing reports & presentations;
Ø Driving License: category B;
Ø Other interpersonal skills:
- excellent listening & presentation skills;
- excellent negotiation & conflict resolution skills;
- excellent leadership skills & ability to build a strong professional team;
- strong organization & time-management skills, very good at multitasking;
- customer service and solution orientated;
- resourceful, innovative & confident in decision-making;
