TRING Communications, a leading provider in offering Hi-Speed Internet, Home Phone services and Digital TV, to Residential and Business Customers is looking for a Unix Systems Administrator for the IT Department.
Job Summary
Responsible for installation, operations and maintenance of company’s IT server infrastructure
Duties and responsibilities:
Install software, apply patches, manage file systems, monitor performance and troubleshoot alerts, open source and locally developed monitoring tools.
System failure analysis and recovery; insuring the consistency and integrity of file systems.
Business continuity planning;
Hardware/software configuration; and management
Liaison with client offices, operations personnel, and field service personnel; interact directly with customers to negotiate solutions and implementation specifics.
Technical support and general troubleshooting
Support servers in a 24x7 data center.
Manage and lead hardware and software migration and upgrade efforts of varying size and complexity.

Educational Background: University degree in Computer Science or relevant area
Post – Graduate Degree Optional
Windows training certification strongly advised
Professional Experience: 3or more years work experience in a relative functional area
Skills and Ability:
In-depth knowledge of Solaris, Linux, Apache and SAN
5 yrs professional systems maintenance experience in a Unix data center environment
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Strong experience with system management tools, logical file systems, and client/server environments.
In-depth hardware configuration knowledge
Shell programming expertise
Network experience
Strong troubleshooting skills
Demonstrated initiative, customer orientation and team work competencies
Ability to communicate technical issues with non-technical people
Optional
Strong inter-personal and communication skills; capable of writing proposals or papers, acting as a vendor liaison, and working closely with upper management.
Ability to solve problems quickly and work under pressure.
Ability to identify tasks which require automation and automate them.
Ability to program in an administrative language.
Other
Excellent verbal and written communications.
