A vacancy has arisen in the Headquarters of the OSCE Presence in Albania for a Senior Public Affairs Assistant (G6) in the Political and Public Affairs Unit.

Duties and Responsibilities

The incumbent will be under the direct supervision of the National Public Affairs Officer and the overall supervision of the Chief Political, Public Affairs and Reporting Officer within the Political, Public Affairs Unit and will perform the following duties:

1. Draft all written media communications and to assist on their content and placement;
2. Organize press conferences and media events;
3. Maintain contacts with all media actors and handles requests for interviews;
4. Maintain and update the Presence’s website;
5. Assist in drafting all other written documents produced by the Unit;
6. Liaise with other International Organizations and with neighbouring OSCE Field Missions;
7. Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications and Skills
Education:
Secondary Education supplemented by specific education in journalism or any other related field.
Experience:
§ Minimum 6 years progressively responsible experience in working with the media, in public relations or in any another related fields;
§ Established experience in liaising with media agencies and institutions;
§ Proven advanced reporting skills, including a demonstrated ability to draft news-related documents and other documents as required;
§ Strong knowledge of Albanian public affairs;
§ Familiarity with the OSCE principles and activities;
§ Ability to operate Microsoft Office applications, including word processing and e-mail;
§ Advanced interpersonal skills;
§ Demonstrable record of impartiality in public life.

Languages:
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Albanian.

Other:
Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team and with people of different nationalities, religions and cultural backgrounds, whilst maintaining impartiality and objectivity.

Remuneration:
According to the fixed OSCE salary scale, the monthly remuneration is approximately 868.25 EURO, subject to National Social Security deductions.
