Job title: NETWORK ENGINEER

Department: Engineering Operations
Reports to: Eng. Operations Manager

Job Summary

Duties and responsibilities:
1. Telephony and data Networks Performance Management.
2. Operational and maintenance of all networking devices, ensuring their continuous availability.
3. Analyzes real-time and short-term of network components and links performance.
4. Participates in implementation, testing and verification of major S/W and H/W updates in telecommunications, telephony, networking and Network Management Systems in cooperation with Planning department.
5. Creates and maintains data configurations files for network element activation or reconfiguration.
6. Provides user administration in all Network Management Systems and Operational Tools
7. Creates Performance Management database queries and applications in order to assist the activities of other divisions.
8. Develops additional monitoring tools in order to assist the activities of other divisions
9. Supports the statistics collection from all network systems and services
10. Cooperates with vendors for hardware and software issues, troubleshooting and operational issues.
11. Executes daily administration tasks (back ups, system health checks etc.)
12. Performs site visits for access network faults and proceeds with corrective maintenance actions.
13. Responsible for the spare part stock for all networking elements.
14. Supervises subcontractors and vendors support performance.

Job title: IP Telephony Engineer

Department: Telephony
Reports to: Head of the Department
Authorization: Management Board

Job Description

The applicant will be responsible for the configuration of IP networking devices such as switches, ATA, IP Phones and also the execution of work orders per telephony services. The applicant should be able to work on 2 shifts basis. He will also have tasks like monitoring and solve problems regarding IP Telephony platform. Training will be provided on the selected applicant for the telephony platform.

Tasks and Responsibilities

1 Configuration of IP networking devices, mainly telephony.
2 Execute work order for telephony services
3 Monitor and give immediate solutions on problems regarding telephony platform
4 Able to get responsibilities and fullfill department plans.


Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Computer Science

Work Experience: 1-2 years experience in IP Networking
1 year of experience in IP Telephony (recommended but not a must)

Personal skills:.
• Good organizing, communications skills.
• Able to prioritize tasks in order to achieve deadlines
• Skillful and willing to learn fast.
• Very good communication skills
• Able to work in a group
• Speaking and writing in English should at minimum medium level.

1. Responsible for daily operations, maintenance and management of the company’s Data Networks (LAN, MAN, WAN) according to company policies and procedures.
2. Responsible for management of Networks Division related projects.
3. Defines and/or manages projects initiated by Networks Operations Division or related to Networks Operations Division
4. Monitors and maintains the networking equipment according to operational service levels described in customer contracts or internal metrics.
5. Operates and maintains all networking infrastructure in order to guarantee continuous operation.
6. Maintains and updates the documentation related to networking infrastructure, configuration files, topologies, architectures.
7. Assists in implementing supporting policies and procedures according to the signed contracts between Tring Communications and its customers.
8. Implements network devices and infrastructure changes according to policies and procedures.
9. Enforces network devices and infrastructure release management policies and procedures.
10. Enforces network devices and infrastructure configuration management policies and procedures.
11. Enforces network devices and infrastructure availability management policies and procedures.


Educational Background: University degree in Computer science or relevant area
Post-graduate degree optional
Cisco certification (CCNA, CCNP, CCIE) strongly advised

Professional Experience: 3 or more years work experience in a relative functional area.
2 years project management or 2 years people management experience will be an advantage.

Skills and Ability:

Technical
1. Knowledge of TCP/IP networks and associated protocols
2. Knowledge of TCP/IP routing protocols and particularly BGP, IS-IS, EIGRP, OSPF
3. Knowledge of Cisco routers and switches configuration and administration (Cisco IOS)
4. Knowledge and understanding on networks designs, WAN and LAN topologies, and architectures
5. Aptitude for learning new technical skills quickly.

Job title: UNIX SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR

Job Summary

Responsible for installation, operations and maintenance of company’s IT server infrastructure

Duties and responsibilities:

• Designs, installs and maintains UNIX operating systems and servers along with their associated services.
• Establishes/recommends policies on system use and services.

Some UNIX training certification (Linux or Solaris) strongly advised

Professional Experience: 3 or more years work experience in a relative functional area


Skills and Ability:

Required

• Strong inter-personal and communication skills; capable of writing purchase justifications, making presentations to an internal audience, and interacting positively with upper management.
• Independent problem solving; self-direction.
• To be comfortable with most aspects of UNIX systems administration; for example, configuration of mail systems, system installation and configuration, printing systems, fundamentals of security, installing third-party software.
• A solid understanding of a UNIX-based operating system; understands paging and swapping, inter-process communication, devices and what device drivers do, file system concepts ("inode", "superblock").
• Familiarity with fundamental networking/distributed computing environment concepts; can configure NFS and NIS, can use nslookup or dig to check information in the DNS, understands basic routing concepts.
• Ability to write scripts in some administrative language (Tk, Perl, a shell).
• Ability to do minimal debugging and modification of C programs.

Optional

• Strong inter-personal and communication skills; capable of writing proposals or papers, acting as a vendor liaison, making presentations to customer or client audiences or professional peers, and working closely with upper management.
• Ability to solve problems quickly and work under pressure.

Required

Individual must have a minimum of 3year advanced experience in the following:

• Experience administering Microsoft Windows 2000/2003/2008 servers.

• Microsoft Certified Systems Engineers (MCSE) or equivalent.(Strongly Recommended)

• Experience remotely managing/administering geographically dispersed servers.

• Experience performing tuning, optimization, and load balancing of servers.

• Experience administering Microsoft Active Directory (AD).

• Experience installing, configuring, optimizing, managing, and troubleshooting Microsoft IIS servers.

• Experience installing, configuring, optimizing, managing, and troubleshooting Microsoft SQL servers.

• Experience designing, analyzing, and maintaining security for an environment that includes Windows, and UNIX/Linux systems.

• Experience configuring and using NetBackup software to perform data backup and recovery in support of data redundancy and disaster recovery.

• Experience installing, configuring, optimizing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Local Area Networks (LANs), servers, routers, hubs, switches, firewalls, and other network equipment.

• Experience developing server-side scripts and group policy objects (GPO).

• Experience configuring and using system-level security procedures including familiarity with cryptography tools.

• Experience maintaining servers for standard internet services such as DNS, NFS, DHCP, mail, web, LPR printing and FTP service.

• Experience configuring and using Vision Solution’s MIMIX for near real-time data replication to other sites.

• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally (in groups and one-on-one) and in writing.

• Demonstrated ability to interact with a wide variety of clients and maintain a friendly, professional manner.
