The Grant Thornton sh.p.k (Albania) team includes professionals, who provide a complete range of services for organisations operating within Albania. We have an extensive regional network of people from 7 member firms, with access to over 35,000 people across over 100 member firms worldwide.
The Grant Thornton sh.p.k team is looking to hire a chief accountant for one of our privately owned clients, operating in the fast moving consumer goods industry.
Scope of Position
Candidate is responsible for overseeing the General Accounting and Financial Reporting functions and the financial services area including Credit, A/R and A/P. He or she is responsible for implementing and maintaining a system of internal controls that will ensure that company assets are adequately safeguarded and that all financial reporting is prepared in compliance with all financial policies.
Key Responsibilities
Develop procedures and accurate implementation of the recording, classifying, and summarizing of daily financial transactions.
Generate financial statements (balance sheet, profit and loss, cash flow) monthly.
Ensure general ledger, subsidiary ledgers, and other financial records and schedules are accurately maintained.
Maintain procedures to establish tight control over cash transactions.
Ensure timely follow up of accounts receivable and payable.
Evaluates & implements internal and external audit recommendations & provides feedback to management on results.
Provide support, service and advise in all finance matters to the company’s management.
Maintaining an effective involvement and understanding of the business in order to contribute to key business decisions within the Company through financial advice and expertise.
Skills
Master’s degree in accounting or finance;
Relevant professional certifications would be an advantage;
At least 5 years practical experience;
Strong communication skills.
