The company is a joint group of experts in the Human Resources area.
On behalf of our client, a well known company operating in distribution area we are looking for a potential candidate for the position of Logistics Specialist.
JOB DESCRIPTION: Logistics Specialist
General Summary: Responsible for the day to day management of the logistics function, ensuring cost effectiveness and timely management of carriage.
DETAILS OF FUNCTION:
-Organizing all shipments in line with company requirements;
-Timely preparation of import documentation
-Preparing and maintaining a delivery schedule and communicating to all
relevant departments;
-Maintenance of system data requirements and ensuring integrity at all
times;
-Maintenance of records;
-Working closely with Purchasing:
-Continual review of shipping dates and reporting exceptions;
-Assisting with the re-negotiating of terms of business/service level agreements and performance evaluation and taking corrective action as required;
-Any other reasonable duties which may be required by management from time to time.
QUALIFICATIONS:
•A university degree; a minimum of 3 (three) years of related experience. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, plus a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is required. Excellent leadership qualities which include the ability to collaborate and work effectively with all levels of staff. Solid project and time management skills. Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
