Database Administrator
Purpose of position:
Perform database space management and monitoring, implement requirements for database backup and recovery, perform database reorgs, statistics and other applicable utilities to ensure proper database function and performance, database performance tuning, perform problem determination and resolution, create and maintain database structures, migrate and install new/changed database objects to the database environment, assist in migration and/or load of application data into the database environment, maintain and implement database security changes based on customer requirements, define, plan, develop and test database server backup and recovery based on requirements, perform database server tuning, database installation/upgrade.
Requirements of the position:
• Bachelor degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or relevant curriculum; or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
• At least 5 years of experience Oracle database design, support and maintenance.
• Strong past experience as Oracle Applications Database Administrator and Engineer on a large scale systems implementation project.
• Solid skills in database performance factors, monitoring tools and tuning procedures.
• Experience analyzing large IT system documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Excellent communication skills
