Biomedical Equipment Technician
As extensive knowledge of English is required forthis position, the job posting is written in English.
Position responsibilities:
The primary role is ensuring that clinicalequipment is maintained properly through the effective use of time and resources.The candidate will repair, calibrate, and maintain medical equipment andinstrumentation used in the healthcare field.
Additionally, performing routine, complex andspecialized tasks involved in the installation, inspection, maintenance, servicing,troubleshooting and calibration of complex therapeutic, diagnostic or lifesupport biomedical instrumentation. The role also includes, such as but notlimited to: routinely complete administrative paperwork, planning, staff communications,expenditure control, periodic reporting to Maintenance Manager and/orappropriate departments.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree (or military trained or field trained) from a four-year college or university
Knowledge of computers, graphics, electrical, mechanical, and chemical engineering principles required
Experience:
At least 3 years of professional experience as a FSE or Maintenance Engineer on complex equipments within electrical, mechanical and computer systems
Knowledge of biomedical equipment preventive and corrective repair standards
Skills:
Ability to analyze, trouble shoot and resolve equipment repairs is critical to success in this role
Ability to explain and demonstrate the correct operation of biomedical equipment to medical personnel required
Good practical skills and a common-sense approach
Ability to maintain organized records
The tact, diplomacy and sense of humor required to deal with people in stressful situations and provide confident assurance
Organizational and time management skills sufficient to independently establish priorities and coordinate and complete competing assignments within established timeframes.
Ability to work under pressure if, for example, an instrument breaks down during an operation or diagnostic exam
Self-confidence and ability to work effectively as a member of team and establish and maintain cooperative working / relationships with staff
