SUBJECT: Invitation to Submit Applications - United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Enabling Equitable Health Reforms (EEHR) project Annual Program Statement No. 1
Abt Associates Inc. (Abt) invites organizations to submit grant applications under the Annual Program Statement (APS) issued by the USAID funded Enabling Equitable Health Reforms (EEHR) project.
The EEHR project is seeking to provide grants to organizations carrying out specific activities in line with the objectives of the EEHR project as described in the Annual Program Statement. Potential activities for grant funding include;
• Establishing a civil society coalition to promote citizen engagement to strengthen health reforms in the regions of Korca, Lezha and Tirana in Albania and coordinate implementation activities;
• Developing a range of internet-based communication tools to mobilize the Albanian population to take action in support of health reforms and hospital improvements;
• Designing, producing and disseminating a range of educational and promotional messages and materials to enhance citizen participation in health reforms and improvements;
• Effectively engaging the media to routinely report on health reform issues, to assist in holding the government accountable for health reforms, and to showcase success stories;
• Conducting audience-based research to inform the design and development of educational and advocacy messages, following EEHR protocols, as described in the Annual Program Statement (APS) No. 1.
The following types of Albanian entities are eligible for grants:
1. Professional associations,
2. Institutions of higher education,
3. Hospitals,
4. Nonprofit non-governmental organizations, and
5. Commercial organizations.
Applications should be submitted in accordance with the instructions set forth in the APS.
Applicants will not be reimbursed for any costs incurred in connection with the preparation and submission of their applications.
Application Deadlines
Questions must be submitted in writing or by email to the address below no later than January 04, 2013 by 17:00 Tirana time. Verbal requests will not be accepted or responded to. Answers to all questions will be disseminated in writing to all potential Applicants.
Interested and qualified organizations should submit their sealed applications in envelopes one original and electronic copy each of the technical and cost proposals starting January 31, 2013 until June 30, 2013 17:00 Tirana time to the following address:
